Dmitriy Borshchak is the Managing Partner and Owner of Borshchak Law Group in Columbus, Ohio. A Cleveland native who built his legal career in Columbus, he practices family law exclusively, concentrating on high-asset divorce, complex property division, business interests, and contested custody litigation.

Clients retain him when the financial and personal stakes are high and the margin for error is small. He approaches every case as both investigator and strategist. He works through the financial records himself, cross-references the facts, identifies inconsistencies, and develops strategy around the leverage those details create. His background—growing up around accounting and business, followed by practical experience in tax accounting—gives him unique fluency with business income, compensation, tax returns, closely held companies, and the classification and valuation of complex assets. Rather than reacting to the other side, he prepares thoroughly so that he knows the case better than anyone else in the room and can use that knowledge to create meaningful leverage.

He works closely with his team and outside experts when the complexity of a matter requires it, believing the strongest results come from tackling difficult problems together. When negotiation serves the client’s interests, he pursues it with discipline. When litigation is required, he is prepared to proceed with precision, persistence, and resolve. He tells clients what they need to hear, not merely what they want to hear, and works to put them in the strongest position the facts allow.

Mr. Borshchak earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Ohio University and his Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School, where he was recognized on the Dean’s List, received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Business and Financial Concepts for Lawyers, competed on the American Association for Justice Mock Trial Team, and provided pro bono representation to indigent clients through the school’s Litigation Clinic. Before founding the firm in 2016, he gained experience at the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office and at a preeminent Columbus family-law firm.

He has been selected to the Super Lawyers Rising Stars list in Family Law from 2022 through 2026 and regularly speaks on Ohio family law, asset division, and the discovery of hidden assets. With fluency in multiple languages, he remains personally engaged in every matter.
